I’m sorry not to have updated before now but somehow or other I managed to delete the old blog – which really is my diary of the trip so I was a bit upset – I do have most of the text kept and all the photos so I could have put it all back but that would have taken LOADS of time!!
Luckily Weebly were able to restore the page but I was not sue exactly how far back it went and I did not want to publish anything new before I could sort this out in case it made things worse! Hopefully all is OK now although when I was trying a way of copying it I managed to delete the last two posts in the UK so I will try to put these back myself!

There are just about 12 hours of daylight here and temperatures are about 26*C to 30*C (78*F to 84*F) in the shade and shade is needed to sit out as the sun travels round the stern of the boat. It’s pretty windy generally as katabatic winds fall off the land and rush down across the marina. These certainly help cool us down and Chris has added side panels to our rain-catcher/sun-awning and we can be out in the cockpit quite happily nearly all day now.
Sitting there during the day, we can see the heads of turtles pop up every now and then - slowly making their round looking for food - unfortunately it’s rather unpredictable so I’ve not been able to take any pictures!!! Although I’m being bitten to pieces by the mosquitoes or something (why me? - no-one else seems to be troubled by them!), we have been tending to stay out during the evening too - often until 10.30/11.00 - and then we can hear and see the fish jumping; sometimes travelling through the air for 4 or 5 ft before thumping back down again from 2/3 ft above the water!

More boats are coming in now but the marina has been pretty empty although in again in the last week or so there are more boats coming in and this evening we expect to see the first of the ARC+ (more about the ARC next time!). There are very few British boats here at the moment and other than John (who is semi-permanent) we have not met many other English- speaking people here. We have met up with two German couples and several Portuguese, one of whom is a delivery skipper waiting for confirmation that the time is right to take the boat across to Rio de Janeiro.
Over the last few days it has very windy and quite a lot cooler in the evenings and we have seldom stayed out beyond about 9.00 and even then put up the sprayhood to protect us from the winds
Off to do some shopping in a minute so will sign off now and hopefully will put back the old posts for next time
