Time has passed by again!!! As everyone says " I don't know how I had time to go to work!"
The good news come s in two parts.
We now have brilliant new brown spray hood, meaning we shouldn't get QUITE so wet when the winds blow. Sailing Yacht Moontide is now looking great in her cream and brown livery.
The second good news is even better - we are now back in the water. On Monday morning Chris went round to the local crane firm - South West Cranes and by 3.00, ably assisted by Andy from Exeter CC Canal Dept, Moontide was back floating for the first time in just over a year. We were rocked to sleep that night but by the water rather than by the wind.
Being in the water meant that Chris could try the engine - ran perfectly at first but then came the bit of bad news; unfortunately the water pump started to leak. Hopefully a couple of new seals will sort it out and we'll be back on track in no time.
Even bad news can come in 2 parts too. On Wednesday, whilst cleaning the heads (toilet to land lubbers) I discovered that the stopcock there was dripping - PANIC!! PANIC!! PANIC!! How long does it take for a drip to sink a boat???? Well apparently we could cross the Atlantic and back with absolutely no problem but we will however get it sorted before we start. In fact its now only half a drip as things that dried out whilst we were on land have started to swell a little!
I will try to post some new photos soon but am having trouble finding the lead I need to connect my camera! Its's somewhere in all my stuff but.........
Bye for now.
